40 cars were built in 2002 to mark the 40th anniversary of Shelby American Cobra - this is the #2 car built specifically for Carroll Shelby's personal collection (the #1 car was sold to an Indiana Collector for over $212,000 at the inaugural Mandalay Bay sale). This car has definitely benefited from the "cost is no object" preparation by Shelby American for the legend himself.  The car is titled in Nevada as a 2002 ASVE 65 Replica Roadster as Carroll Shelby's personal vehicle.

This all aluminum Cobra features new ALL aluminum 427 side-oiler engine and original Top Loader 4-speed transmission and has been dyno tested to produce in excess of over 550 horsepower. An incredible level of attention to detail was mandated during the production of the Anniversary Cobra run as exemplified by this, the most collectable example built. Utilizing the very best of the best during construction, the powder coated frame is wrapped in hand formed aluminum and finished with Baer brakes, electronic fuel pump and all the S/C accouterments including side pipes, hood scoop, roll bar and Goodyear Sports Special racing tires.

Special Anniversary edition include badging (front, rear and sides); special order blue paint (exclusive for this limited run); Autometer dash gauges; carbon fiber hood scoop; steering wheel center hub; special floor mats and CSX stamped tools.
